Don’t let the social networking aspect fool you. This is an excellent resource for networking, period.  You can create links to your resume and curriculum vitae, and reach out to an entire network that could use your services or knows of  a career opportunity that may not be posted on a career website.   This Wall Street Journal resource offers articles and tips that are especially geared toward job seekers transitioning into a new career direction, or who want to transfer their skills and qualifications into making money on the Internet.  Linkedin is a networking and referral site that allows you to market your services to the community, and allows others to recommend your skills and services.  ( Employers, Human Resources are now using Linkedin to search for candidates for their job positions).  Linkedin is a free site where you can post your career objective, work history, affliations and memberships.  Its also can be an excellent tool to network with others in a business setting.

(Remember what you post on Linkedin stays on the Internet forever!  Word of Caution, use discretion in posting personal information.  Such as personal addresses and data). Other sites less formal settings like  (Remember don’t go overboard on too many sites. If employers see your all over the Internet, its not recommended either. Use common sense and discretion).

Mashable not only posts jobs, but like Wall Street Journal’s Career Journal, offers articles, tips and resources for job seekers and career transitioners.  –  New social network that connects employers to job seekers.  -Interns over 40 (great strategies for the 40+ job seeker)  Douglas E. Welch discusses Career Opportunities and New Media Interchange sites, which also are on Facebook. Can check these sites out for career, job seeking, social media and networking advice and information.  Offering hourly and part-time listings.
