Don’t let the social networking aspect fool you. This is an excellent resource for networking, period. You can create links to your resume and curriculum vitae, and reach out to an entire network that could use your services or knows of a career opportunity that may not be posted on a career website.
www.careerjournal.com This Wall Street Journal resource offers articles and tips that are especially geared toward job seekers transitioning into a new career direction, or who want to transfer their skills and qualifications into making money on the Internet.
www.linkedin.com Linkedin is a networking and referral site that allows you to market your services to the community, and allows others to recommend your skills and services. ( Employers, Human Resources are now using Linkedin to search for candidates for their job positions). Linkedin is a free site where you can post your career objective, work history, affliations and memberships. Its also can be an excellent tool to network with others in a business setting.
(Remember what you post on Linkedin stays on the Internet forever! Word of Caution, use discretion in posting personal information. Such as personal addresses and data). Other sites less formal settings like www.facebook.com www.brightfuse.com www.twitter.com (Remember don’t go overboard on too many sites. If employers see your all over the Internet, its not recommended either. Use common sense and discretion).
